Literacy Blog #1 6/12/17
My favorite subjects in middle school was health and history but my least favorite subjects was math and english.
I felt like my health and history teachers took time out to really
teach us the information. They just did not give us work just to be
doing it. They had a lot of passion about the subject that they were teaching. I am more of a kinesthetic learner, so that mean I have to learn by doing. They made sure that the way they taught reach all the different types of learners. On the other hand with my math and english teacher,
they only taught one way and that was by talking with no interaction
with the students. They did not try and reach out to the other types of
learners that was in the classroom. So when it was time to do homework I
struggled a lot, because I felt like I was not learning in class and I was trying to figure it out on my own. It took me a little bit longer to process the information and the pace that the teachers would go at did not suit
my learning style. I have not been in classroom on my own yet, but I
have done some student teaching. I have done a little bit of both while I
was doing my student teaching. Sometime you do not even know that you are doing it while you are teaching. The good thing is that I got a lot of good advice from my overseer about how to fix those mistakes. I conceder that feedback that was given to me as positive feedback because it help me better myself in the long run.
